All of the Zat is painted with high quality paints.   This Zat has no moving parts as to the fact there was and is only 4 to 5 working Zats used on the show. The rest are fixed in the open position or fixed in the closed position. They switch the working zats with the actors for situations where the actors might by chance damage the working model.  I also have photo evidence of the practice in use. So rest assured that this is truly the closest thing to a real Zat you will have.
