Bio:
Ellen Eilers, now in her 80’s, has been drawing or painting since childhood. During her years as an elementary school teacher and as a mom of four children, painting was her hobby. Then about 40 years ago, it became her profession.

She has always enjoyed a variety of methods and media, including oils, acrylics, watercolors and collages as she translated moods, interests and ideas into paintings.

Although she received training in art in college, she credits the most meaningful help from outstanding nationally known workshop instructors such as Edgar Whitney, Zoltan Szabo, Frank Webb, Cheng Khee Chee, Raleigh Kinney and many others.

Her work has often won recognition, such as four consecutive “originality and creativityâ€� awards from the artists of Minnesota organization and an “Artist of the Yearâ€� award from a nine county arts council and awards for her entire display including the Charles Seeley Memorial Award for best exhibit in a new Richmond, Wisconsin Art Show and a second place display award at a Galena Illinois art show. Her stylized landscapesâ€� are a favorite.

She shares her enthusiasm for creating art with others in art organizations and in her teaching of watercolor classes.

Her paintings are now found in most states as well as abroad.
