This is a new
handcrafted Oak Knitting Board measuring about 19 inches wide with 48 pegs on each side.
It comes with the book, Illustrated Guide to Board Knitting, a
knitting hook, and a pattern to create a Two Color Scarf.
If you are new to knitting boards, they
are a fun and extremely easy way to knit without needles. No prior knowledge
of knitting or crocheting is required before you are making afghans,
scarves, purses, etc. like the items shown here. Easy enough for a
child to do – and many children love using them. You can knit using both
sides, called double knitting, or just using one side. Double knitting
produces a piece where both sides look the same and multicolor designs look
great on both sides. Great for afghans, scarves, etc. where the back will
show. Start now and you’ll be enjoying an art that has been enjoyed around
the world for centuries.
If you are familiar with knitting
boards, you’ll appreciate this board with its variable width adjustment.
This board is made to allow you to determine the space between the two side
pieces. Therefore, you may use yarns of various weights, ranging from baby
and light sport to heavier yarns and everything in between. You may adjust
this width for your desired gauge. You’ll also appreciate its 48 pin width,
wide enough for a large variety of projects.
The board is made from Oak, one of the
strongest woods available, and zinc coated steel pegs. The board is sanded
smooth for a natural finish. It’s great to give as a gift for your crafty
family and friends. Or get one for yourself to make those cherished handmade
knitted items to give as gifts (or keep for yourself). It is great for kids
to enjoy also.
