This edition of the Nagano Ice Skater Barbie shows the Japanese writing on the box.  It was purchased in Japan and is VHTF (very hard to find).  The medallion has the Nagano olympic symbol on it, where the ones sold in the USA do not.  Others in the US have a Gold Medal.

doll is an officially licensed JOC and NAOC official olympic product from the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan. She is fully jointed, and can be wound up to make her "spin" and "perform" Olympic ice figure skating moves. Barbie has long blonde hair, and is wearing a sparkly aqua ice skating outfit with aqua feathered trim and aqua skates.
She was made by Mattel, and is in mint, never removed from the box condition ( NRFB ), but if you are a box collector, please inquire about the box condition. The back of the US boxes shows Olympic figure skater Tara Lipinski, however this box does not, it features a Barbie and Ken Olymic Skater Pairwith Barbie swirling in Ken's arms.
