Great first camcorder for an aspiring enthusiast! We've loved how vibrant and clear the video is - we've had people think they are watching real television when they watch video made with this camcorder. This camera currently retails for $1629.99 and is reviewed here and here and Amazon reviews here.
Originally purchased in Spring 2001, this camcorder comes with two batteries, the upgraded NP-FM70 which we've used since 2001 and the original NP-FM50 which I don't think we ever used. Also included in the sale is a Sony-brand 64MB memory stick, the camcorder stock remote RMT-811, skylight lens, lens hood, lens cap with attachment (no shown in pictures but never used), AV to RCA "camera to television" cord, and AC charging adapter. Every thing works great.
Condition: There are no scratches or defects on any of the critical-use parts. There are no scratches at all on the front lens, the LCD screen, or the view finder. I've taken very high resolution pictures to show the use on the rest of the body (which shows solid use). This is a used camera and will not pass off as "new." There is a dent on the corner of the LCD screen housing (Picture DSC_0031.JPG) and on solid scratch on the hinge between the LCD screen and the front lens (Picture DSC_0028.JPG) and lots of small scratches on the bottom where the tripod mount is (picture DSC_0042.JPG). These flaws do not effect performance at all. The larger battery when it was new gave a run time of something like 8 hours - it gives a run time of about 2 to 4 hours now. The little camcorder hand strap, while solid, sturdy and reliable, shows signs of solid use and little flakes of paint come off at times - it will not break though.
